HOP Concept Model House

A fusion of cutting-edge energy conservation technology and style – a home for the future

Designing with a dynamic space composition while reflecting Japanese traditions and leveraging our unique know-how build up through experience in designing a number of residences owned by foreigners in Niseko and Karuizawa, we have created a concept house that embodies the home for the future.

The entrance, which is the face of the house, features a classy black granite floor and a large transparent wall which gives an open feel with no sense of border between the outdoors and indoors.

As you enter the house and walk towards the back while looking at the courtyard beyond the terrace through the transparent walls, you enter an extensive space of approximately 50 square meters that combines the living room, dining room and kitchen. The shades produced by the ribbed ceiling made of solid maple give a gentle feel to the room.

The kitchen originally designed by HOP effectively uses indirect lighting – producing an image of lightness as though the room is floating in the air.

The built-in bath and powder room as spacious as a fancy hotel provide a premium personal space for relaxation.

The second floor features a study and a theater room divided by a finely detailed lattice partition. Our unique built-in bookshelves effectively utilize the space and create an atmosphere of a secret room where one can spend hours immersed in thought or a personal project. Furthermore, the large screen and excellent sound system create a dynamic home theater experience.

The entrance paved with granite stone

The latest installations and materials based on the concept of passive house are incorporated as well such as the solar energy system using solar panels set up on the south-side roof, the rainwater capture system and the use of new wood fiber material (wood fiber insulation material). This original and classy house represents our views on how a house for the future should be.
