I gathered all of my experiences and knowledge, and poured them into building this one storied house whose theme was “enjoying an authentic Japanese garden fully”. The general planning was to build two hip-and-gable roofs buildings and connect them with a corridor that faces to the garden. In this way, the garden would be always in sight from anywhere in the house, and it would be the center of the daily life. The garden as well as the buildings keeps changing its expressions throughout the day. Especially the night is spectacular with all the trees in the garden lit up, and one never gets tired of it as the fantastic shadows projected onto the corridor are like a Fusuma-e (paints on sliding doors). The house lets you enjoy watching the garden, and its beauty and lively feelings of changing seasons.067067
