昼間と雰囲気がガラリと変わる夜のアプローチ。Gathering Place for a Big FamilyThe location was facing a large park with thriving trees and a running stream. The owner of the house wished to have a house that would not disturb the wonderful landscape the ground had, and would be worth a cultural heritage for the future generations. His idea and my concept of “making the most of nature, and making the best use of trees” corresponded each other, and shaped into a residence that suited the surrounding environment. For the interior, we adopted the elements of Frank Lloyd Wright – an architect giant of 20th century, and integrated them with HOP’s original designs to create a classic-modern style. It became a comfortable, chic space. When I visited the house soon after it was completed, the owner family met me naturally as if they had been living in it for years. I think we managed to materialize the concept of HOP that is; “a house should be a theater stage for those who live there can play their roles pleasantly”.177
