The owner, who is from Tokyo, wished to live in nature as much as possible. To assimilate into nature, it is best to use most natural materials. From the beginning, I was determined to use bare concrete. I also decided which direction I should take the axis immediately. When you enter the house, the gentle contour of the hill and the grove of larch trees come straight into view like a beautiful piece of picture. The owner liked this setting more than anything. The living room ceiling is Japanese linden, floor is oak and the carpentry furniture is made of Japanese ash. They are all solid wood. The corridor is colonnaded with Japanese ash columns like a forest. The stately timbers exude strong presence even in the grand nature. I feel that the tasty mineral water from the well is a gift of nature to the owner who has decided to settle in this place. 131
